Creating your own Harry Potter DIY Wand is a right of passage for any Harry Potter Fan! And this is one of our favorite activites to do when we are asked to do our Premium Party addon.
The most important part of any good wand making session is to ensure you have the right materials.
When we make our wands, we make sure to get:
- Large Bamboo Chopsticks
- Paint Brushes and Paint Sponges
- Cool Glue Gun
- Acryllic Paint
- Craft Varnish
- Assorted Colored Stones
Steps to Making Your Harry Potter DIY Wand
Start by taking your soon-to-be-wand and using the glue gun to adorn it with decorations. For inspiration on how to decorate your wand, scroll to the end of the article to see all the famous wands used by your favorite characters.
Once you are happy with your design, it is time to affixed your Sorcerers Stone to the end of the handle. This is so it looks extra special, but also harnesses the additional power a unique Sorcerers Stone can provide.

Paint that Wand
When you are finished with your design and have added your stone, it is time to start painting.
We started with a brown and gold mix over the entire wand. Then we finished it up with a solid gold coating on the glue gunned areas.
Once you have finished painting your wand, wait till it dries and then you can give it a coating with the Craft Vanish. Which is the white semi-transparent liquid in our paint containers. Give it some time to dry and then you will be ready to cast your favorite spells.
