We threw Sam a Sonic Birthday Party in his Mountainside backyard, and this group of fans had a great time trying to keep up with Sonic while Dr. Eggman tore through the yard.
The hour started with a speed race to see if they were as fast as Sonic, then we swept Eggman’s leftover bombs off the course. Kids gather those bombs and heave them over to the other team, running and dodging incoming ones the whole time, and it gets everybody moving before the real fight starts.
Eggman’s Sentry Towers
Once they were warmed up, Eggman himself rolled in. This game has kids grabbing claws, scooping up his bombs, and hurling them into the sentry towers while he races around blasting fire cannons. They always love this one, especially when a tower finally goes down and he has to scramble to the next.
From there we moved into the Sonic puzzle boxes — Knuckles and Super Sonic stacking chaos emeralds on a wobbly tower, hijacking Metal Sonic’s claw, and building a race track for Sonic, Tails, and Amy’s speed balls — and that is how we finished the hour.
