We got to the backyard in Chatham, New Jersey early and set up Marcus's Among Us birthday party. This is a real-life hour, not kids sitting on screens. The ship was ready before anyone walked in.
We introduced ourselves and the kids shouted happy birthday to Marcus. Then we put them on the jobs.
Tasks ran in rounds around the yard. The ship would not take off until the crew finished the list. Marcus kept taking the next job on the list even after a meeting.
They piled in for emergency meetings to talk about imposters, then headed back out for more tasks. We closed at the ship puzzle boxes.
One more happy birthday to Marcus. Then pizza, cupcakes, and favors for the walk out.
