We threw Jack a Super Mario Birthday Party in his Scotch Plains backyard, and Bowser already had the Super Stars. Somebody had left Bob-ombs, shells, mushrooms, and bananas all over the path, and nobody was getting to him until that track was clear.
We started with a little super speed to see if they could keep up, then it was cleanup time. Kids sweep their side of the yard and toss as much of the mess as they can onto the other team’s, running and dodging incoming shells the whole time.

This game is a mess in the best way — Bob-ombs and bananas flying, two teams trying to keep their own track open, and a lot of laughing when a shell comes back over. Once the path was clear they set out to steal the Super Stars back from Bowser, and we finished the hour at the Mario puzzle boxes.
