Where It Happens

Most Livingston parties happen in the backyard. Northland Park and Okner Park have fields and open grass. Memorial Park by the civic buildings is another option. Indoors, the Livingston Community Center and the West Essex YMCA on South Livingston Avenue both work.

Travel

Livingston is 10 to 20 miles from Cranford, so travel is $30. We also run parties in West Orange, Madison, Chatham, and Maplewood.

Sawyer's Dinosaur Birthday Party

Eggs were out around the fields at Northland Park. Sawyer went back out even after a catch and would not stop hunting for the rest of the hour. Other kids sat with their piles. We packed the eggs around him while he added one more. He handed us that last one himself.

Tessa's Among Us Birthday Party

Tessa kept a list. After every meeting in her Livingston yard she pointed at the next job and walked someone over to it. The ship still needed more tasks. She would not let them pile in again until that one was done. The last job on her list was the one she made them finish.

Stella's Harry Potter Birthday Party

Stella lined her house up on the grass and would not sit until they had a score. We ran Quidditch long because of it. She kept the count herself and announced it after each goal, even when the other house was ahead. At the end she read the total out loud.

Paul's Pirate Birthday Party

Paul's pirate party was at the West Essex YMCA on South Livingston Avenue. The deck was already a mess: loose cannonballs, two teams, and a net across the gym. Cannonball Cleanup got loud once both teams were really going. Paul's crew would not leave the net. That cleanup was the station they wanted.
