We got to the backyard in Maplewood, New Jersey early and set up Caleb's Among Us birthday party. This is a real-life hour, not kids sitting on screens. The ship was ready before anyone walked in.
We introduced ourselves and the kids shouted happy birthday to Caleb. Then we put them on the jobs.
Tasks ran in rounds around the yard. The ship would not take off until the crew finished the list. Caleb wanted the emergency meetings and talked through every one.
They piled in for emergency meetings to talk about imposters, then headed back out for more tasks. We closed at the ship puzzle boxes.
Happy birthday again, Caleb. Cupcakes followed the pizza. Favors went out last.
