How The Hour Went
We set up for Paul’s pirate birthday in a Livingston backyard, and after a little running around we went straight to the trays on the grass.
The kids played through them while they were still looking for treasure. They matched eggs for the parrot and plucked poisonous sea urchins with tweezers, and they finished by lining up the ancient pirate skulls so the chest would open.

The deck is a mess. Kids clear loose cannonballs, then go ship to shore: swords, a cannon shot at the mast, treasure, and a race back while a tentacled octopus (one of our guides with pool noodles) tries to catch them. On land they finish with pirate puzzle boxes.
